Bell-Booth Calcium provides the calcium required for animal growth, pregnancy, lactation, nerve development, muscle function, and formation of bones and teeth. Calcium is also critical post-calving to assist with reducing milk fever.
High levels of estrogen around calving inhibit calcium mobilization. Cows eat less around calving and thus calcium intake is often reduced. When calcium intake is less than the animal’s requirement, it can collapse from muscle tremors, be susseptible to milk fever, have reduced appetite, and can be fatal.
Can only administer via a Dosatron Inline Dispenser once all cows have calved)
Maintenance Dose 25mL per cow per day
Crisis Dose 50 mLs per cow per day (via colostrum paddock water-troughs).
Note: Do not use pre-calving. Many sulphate-based products can cause the precipitation of calcium. If this occurs, discontinue and change to an AHX chloride-based solution.
