Our Story

Since our inception in 1960, we’ve been supporting the primary, service and goods-producing industries that power New Zealand forward.

Drawing on decades of experience, we source and manufacture some of the best animal and plant health, pest control, hygiene and robotics products New Zealand has to offer.

Our founder, Rex Bell-Booth, had a pioneering spirit and strong desire to find novel solutions to meaningful problems. More than 60 years and three generations later, not much has changed. Innovation remains at the heart of our mission, evident in our many New Zealand firsts and our ever-expanding range of automation and technology-driven solutions.

Our sales and support teams go above and beyond to understand the evolving needs of our customers, ensuring we provide purpose-led and sustainable solutions. But it doesn’t stop there. Once our products arrive on location, we back them with the comprehensive, roll-up-your-sleeves support you would expect of a truly local partner.

Formed off the back of a handshake and nurtured by our commitment to follow through on our promises, the relationships we share with our customers often span generations. We’re most successful when we work in partnership with our customers, providing solutions that add genuine value to their business.

With a three-generation history and a proven track record, we are in it for the long haul and look forward to pushing the boundaries on innovation for years to come.

Maxicrop, the original bio-stimulant, has proved hugely successful globally.

The first seaweed product used for plant growth, Maxicrop contains seaweed extract and several specialist amino acids and organic compounds that have been proven to increase root development, chlorophyll production, disease resistance and soil microbial activity, studies measuring chlorophyll production showed increases as high as 300% in treated plants.

Over 700 million doses of Nutrimol have been administered to New Zealand dairy cattle.

Introduced in 1972, Nutrimol, another Bell Booth seaweed-based mineral supplement has become a New Zealand icon in the dairy industry. Nutrimol has been shown to lessen heat-stress in dairy cattle as well as enhancing the fertility of dairy cows.

The right balance of trace element and minerals are critical to cow health and production. IntenSE is New Zealand's #1 range of supplements for medicating farm water supplies. The release of an IntenSE Organic range gives organic-certified farms access to the same ease of water-medicated dosing for many kinds of stock.

N-Telligent provides a more sustainable pasture system.

Since the late 1990’s Bell-Booth trialed bio-stimulants to demonstrate that alternative nitrogen management programmes can reduce damage to the soil structure and the risk of leaching.

With field trials showing improved nitrogen utilisation of up to 18:1, the biostimulant ‘N‐Telligent’ was born.

N-Telligent has provided a more sustainable pasture system that reduced the negative environmental impact associated with the application of urea.

The introduction of Dosatron to New Zealand in 1989 by Bell-Booth transformed the dairy industry.

Inline water dispensing has removed the need for manual daily drenching. Though enabling minerals and trace elements to be precisely offered to livestock via the waterline, the name Dosatron has become a kiwi icon.

With the Dosatron system offering a better way to add water-soluble medications to water troughs, Bell-Booth developed the IntenSE range of trace elements and minerals, becoming pioneers in delivering trace elements like zinc, magnesium, selenium and copper direct to stock.

Queen of Calves makes COWS 30% more profitable.

Developed by the Bell-Booth family, Queen of Calves is a plant-extract nutrition program. After several field trials and study of some 400,00 cows, it was concluded that animals raised on Queen of Calves out-produced a conventionally-raised heifer by 30 kilograms of milksolids per lactation, per cow, and reached weaning weights up to 3 weeks earlier, among other significant health benefits.

When it comes to protecting our environment, few other products have had such a positive impact than the PestOff range of pest control baits and bait-stations.

Introduced predators are a huge threat to the farming economy and natural environment. Every year they destroy crops and kill an estimated 25 million native birds.

It's estimated only 5% of kiwi chicks make it to breeding age without the support of a predator control programme.

Pestoff has been used successfully for eradicating rodents on many islands, including Raoul, Rangitoto, Motutapu, Little Barrier, Kapiti, Campbell as well as internationally.

Creating better calf rearing systems with smart automation.

The introduction of the German precision-engineered Holm & Laue Robotic Calf Feeders has seen many operations take the backache out of calf rearing and add a new level of control in producing healthy and even lines of stock, for a fraction of the work that is traditionally required using manual labour.
