Calcium is required for animal growth, pregnancy, lactation, nerve development, muscle function and formation of bones and teeth.
When calcium intake is less than the animal’s requirement, it will probably collapse, suffering from muscle tremor, reduced appetite, and if treatment is not forthcoming, death can occur.
